The discovery of fire marked a pivotal moment in human history, transforming our existence on Earth. With the ability to control this primal force, early humans gained warmth, protection, and the means to cook food. This newfound tool also catalyzed cultural and technological advancements. However, today, after the advent of industrialization and the rise of capitalism, the dynamic has shifted and fire seems to take back control. Through collaging both amateur and commercial found footage material, this video essay tells the story of men playing with fire. Despite all the Fun this was and all hope involved, a clear loser emerges behind the smoke clouds.
